What I have found ...I’m a very eclectic music gal. What I have found in my area among elementary folk is that most of the vocal-leaning people love Kodaly and most of the instrumental-leaning people love Orff. And I certainly see why they feel that way. I love them both equally. I have been a huge fan of Feierabend as well. He came to our Kansas Music Educators conference a few years ago and over a few session times showed us so beautifully how we could weave all of the different approaches together. I left it feeling so validated.MaureenBerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00868361623205880098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819722186267743707.post-9470232654833489842019-06-03T08:06:19.486-04:002019-06-03T08:06:19.486-04:00I'm not certified in any methodology yet (but ...I'm not certified in any methodology yet (but am getting FS training this summer, and hopefully Conversational Solfege next summer), but my ultimate goal is to have all of my certifications for Kodaly and Orff as well so that I can better serve my students. What works for us as educators just may simply not work for some students, and having the ability to pull from so many sources is invaluable. :)Adrian M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08100353074259333751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819722186267743707.post-62410990240670770712017-07-20T06:53:30.845-04:002017-07-20T06:53:30.845-04:00Feierabend is HUGE here in CT. I honestly hadn't looked at his stuff much until I started teaching here 4 years ago, but I've learned a lot from his approach as well :)Elizabeth Caldwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12042281726294433770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819722186267743707.post-7085326692908971362017-07-20T06:52:36.043-04:002017-07-20T06:52:36.043-04:00Exactly! Thanks for writing this. You hit on all the reasons I like to use mixed methods. Also, your curriculum looks like it would be an amazing resource for mixed methods teachers😊Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04528207504273223827noreply@blogger.com
