I would pull out the song as a separate entity and work on adding ostinati while the other students sing and pat the beat- once they can do it, then add it back into the story. I would also practice counting them in so they get used to the idea of starting together rather than just starting as soon as they hit that point in the story ;) Elizabeth Caldwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12042281726294433770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819722186267743707.post-88053117979220818532017-11-12T18:05:23.323-05:002017-11-12T18:05:23.323-05:00I actually just meant during the song portion.I actually just meant during the song portion.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14236666328883939406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819722186267743707.post-19929277689447574002017-11-12T18:01:57.740-05:002017-11-12T18:01:57.740-05:00Do you think it would be possible to incorporate u...Do you think it would be possible to incorporate unpitched percussion instruments in ostinatos to accompany the story as well?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14236666328883939406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819722186267743707.post-53875939786705587312017-11-07T16:54:45.976-05:002017-11-07T16:54:45.976-05:00That's awesome! With Kindergarten, I used the characters for voice exploration, so I had the mother whisper, the father use his speaking voice and the siblings were the shouting voice. Mortimer was the singing voice and the Police were just deep and scary :Psltownerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09803124969381711168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4819722186267743707.post-38160527739528964812017-03-02T05:20:14.669-05:002017-03-02T05:20:14.669-05:00Thanks for asking- I just added a notated melody t...Thanks for asking- I just added a notated melody to the post- see above :) Let me know if I can help with anything else!
