August Favorites 2017

I know I say this a lot, but this month I really can't believe it's the end of the month. Seriously, this is ridiculous. How is it about to be September?!? Classes start tomorrow (Monday) for me, so this is officially the end of any semblance of summer vacation..... time to kick things into high gear! If you're looking for some inspiration to get you going this September, I've got some good ones below :)

1. Planner spreads

I was so happy with the way my monthly spread came out this month, and apparently a lot of you were too- that is the biggest response I have ever gotten to any photo on Instagram ever! To be honest I'm pretty obsessed with all of the weekly spreads I did this month as well- I just decided to go all-out and use my favorite colors and designs and the results make me so happy :) Here's the link to my instagram pictures if you want to see my weekly spreads. I'm back to my lesson planning weekly spreads now, so I won't have nearly this much creative freedom for a while :(

2. New classroom door poster

I'm super lucky to have a poster printer in my building that I can use, so I took full advantage and whipped up a poster to coordinate with the rainbow designs I used for my classroom posters. I love all of the, "in this classroom we are..." posters that I've seen for the last couple of years, but I decided I didn't want them to think they could only be those things in my class, so I made the title just "we are all....". I'm probably thinking too hard but hey, it's what I do ;)

3. Doll clothes designing

I am totally in love with my daughters' new hobby: creating clothes for their dolls out of craft supplies like paper and washi tape. I am just astonished at their creativity! You can see here the way they spiffied-up some shoes and added a zipper and purse. They've also made entire dresses, sunglasses, and other fun items- I wish I could have gotten pictures of those but I always forget! This has been such a great reminder of how creative kids can be when they're given the tools and the space to do so.

4. Blog posts

If you've been around these parts for long you know I love digging up some fantastic blog posts from different blogs each month to share on my Facebook page every Friday. These are really awesome resources- if you haven't read these yet be sure to check them out (and leave them a nice comment! bloggers love comments!).

I hope you found some inspiration to give your September the kick-start you need! If you haven't already, be sure to sign up for my newsletter below. Each month I send out an overview of what I'll be teaching in the upcoming month, along with timely resources and updates. If you missed this month's email (going out Sunday afternoon 8/27) and want to see what you missed, send me an email at and I'll forward it to you.

Let's get this party started- time for a fresh new school year and I can't wait to enjoy it with you! :) Happy September!
